Kladská Peat Bogs

The Kladská Nature Trail runs along the edge of the Kladské rašeliny National Nature Reserve and introduces visitors to the history of the Kladská settlement, the development of the peat bog and its plant and animal life. Along the wooden boardwalk, you can experience the local nature up close and with your own eyes.

The trail leads through one of the oldest and largest nature reserves in the Karlovy Vary Region, and one of the most valuable parts of the Slavkov Forest Protected Landscape Area. It was declared as early as 1933 to protect five peat bogs around Kladská. The Kladská Peat Bogs are a unique complex of upland raised bogs lying at altitudes between 800 and 930 metres, covering a total area of almost 300 hectares. The largest of them is Tajga; the others are Paterák, Lysina, Malé rašeliniště and Husí les.
